Android : Some simple questions about making a magazine reader app

I want to make a new android app to read a special magazine. I have some questions about this app:

1. 
   

   I should put the old issues in the app. I can do this by database(contain the ID of magazine and the address of it's file on the phone) and a class. which is better?

   
   


2. 
   

   the magazine has just 2 pages. I can use the jpg or pdf of magazine. whitch is better?

   I wonder if u know a sample program for this?
