Python: Database SQLite framework [on hold]

I'm currently using SQLite for a Python project and I was wondering if there was any simple framework to work with... I heard about Django but actually I'm not doing any web development just a simple desktop application so I'm not sure if I can use it. Any thoughts? Thank you! :)
