A background service to constantly watch sms validity date stored in SQLLite DB

Application Type: I'm developing SMS Blocker so I've to save blocked SMS for a defined period in SQLite Database. And delete them automatically after that defined period has completed.

Problem I don't know how to create such service to run in background and constantly watch the period of SMS and perform database operations. Please help.
