Adding history items in mozilla firefox

I have made this python package that lets you delete the history containing certain keywords or according to certain time span for Mozilla Firefox.

It is working fine. Now to make it more interesting, I have been trying to add a "history add" option also so that we can add in the history whichever site we want. I am manipulating the history database places.sqlite for all this. The structure can be seen in: http://ift.tt/20o5O4s

But I an not able to add new items because i don't know the values to be inserted in certain columns like id, type etc. So, what should i insert in these fields. Also is it even possible to add history items or the browser has to trigger it. Any help would be appreciated.
