SQLite Search/Filter data with a searchView

i have an application with SQLite database. I want to add searchView to it to filter data. I have only names table and i want to filter them. Maybe you can share how to do that? I tried to use

adapter.getFilter().filter

It filtered but after doing that once, i cannot add any more items to database or delete them, i have to restart app. Please help me someone!
