Procedure for updating Sqlite database on App Store update

In the new version of my app, I have modified the database. I was going through this link for updating database, but didn't quite get it. Does this involve the User Version in Database Settings of the Sqlite manager ?
What are the steps (in detail), I need to follow so as to update the database with the update of my app on App Store which includes copying data to the new database ?
