Android Open Source App of Database Usage SQL

I am still in early stages of development, and everything is a learning curve for me. I have a good knowledge of PHP and SQL.

But am trying to understand and find the best method for pulling data from a mySQL Web Server and populating a form of SQLite Database.

I have gone over a few different tutorials, But i was trying to look for an Open Source app I can review and see how it works.

The Web-server SQL Database may become quite large over time. So different options whether to store the information locally from the DB after it connects, or read the data on the fly. Both have there ups and downs.

having an application with such a method already implemented may just help me get a better understanding.
