I know this is probably in the wrong section, but this is where I can post..
I asked a legitimate question a little while ago on here. It's was not a standard question I guess.
But instead of getting actual help or links to get to my answer, I got closed off by people who actually had no right to do so.
I got one guy "Frank N. Stein" who gave me a generic answer which in fact was wrong .. I corrected him and in turn he deleted his reply then he and his buddies closed off my question.
How is a community, and the knowledge it has, supposed to grow when we have wannabes trying to control the flow of information?
I come from a very different world where knowledge is free to share, now I enter the coders world and am met with these sorts of people.. .... Doesn't say much for the community ....
Anyways, I eventually cracked my problem, which had no examples or references so actually quite proud of that, took about 170 lines of code, but whatever ..
A bit of advice to coders out there that are struggling with a problem: Try break it up into smaller pieces and just concentrate on that.. helped my alot, I didn't realize how many steps I needed to read another apps database (encrypted of not) but I finally have perfect code that can adapt to any version of android and to ANY database.
GO ME !!
