Android - exchange locations data between application

i have a question about sharing the location data in android (longitude and latitude). I'm try to write application which i can see other users (from friends list) on the map. At this moment i write application with shows me my location on map. How i can exchange locations data between application (same application of course)? For that i should use SQLite?(If yes, please a sample) Or maybe android can do that without database? I'm a new in programing. Searching about that for a few weeks and i don't know how i can do that.
