Save data to MySql from iOS SQLite

We have an iPad app that saves data locally to an SQLite DB. We need to upload this saved data to a MySQL main server. I've read here that it can be done via Ajax/PHP but I can't find any examples, tutorials, code or anything that illustrates more concretely how it's done. We'd appreciate any push in the right direction. Thanks!
