How to use your own SQLite database in an android application

Hi

I am looking for a way to connect and work directly to my own created SQLibe database in assets folder.

But all documents I have ever found are talking about a way to move SQLibe database file to data\data\MY_PACKAGE_NAME\databases directory before first use and then manipulate it. These solutions don't seem efficient.(Having two copy of the same database file !!.Leaving the first one useless and worst if the file be relatively heavy.) It is very far from What I have expected from google SDK developers and I think there should be an efficient solution for that issue.
