Identify sqlite database change from another source in android

I wish to save some data in a sqlite database in a user's android app. I want to know whether it's possible to identify any changes to database from an external source. (Eg. Rooted phone can modify other apps databases). If it's not directly possible is there a workaround to track those changes.
