Include a local SQL db in an Azure Cloud Service

I feel like this should be incredibly easy and I am missing something obvious.

I've created a Node app and want to deploy in on Azure Cloud Service as a Web App. The app reads from and writes to a SQLite DB in a folder within the repository. I hooked up the Azure service to my Github, where the project is located, and synced it up.

At this point it is not running and I suspect this has something to do with the SQLite db.

Given the description of the problem I have encountered above: 1. Am I correct in assuming that the SQLite db may in fact be the problem? 2. What's the best method of debugging in this service? I almost feel like it would have been easier to just create a VM and git clone the project there...
