Using both Firebase and SQLlite in an android app

Im developing an app that can takes photos.i want to share some selected ones to the community (app users) with some relevant data (description and other info). im planing to use SQLite to handle the local data and firebase to handle the community part. is this a good practice when it comes to developing android apps like this. im new to firebase stuff.
