How to update mySQL and SQLite database

I am trying to update a user's information and I am currently using SQLite, mySQL, and PHP to implement the login functionality of my android app. I have this method to register users to my application, and adds the information to both the SQLite and MySQL databases, and I was wondering how I could modify it to become a update method that updates one parameter, "user_group", which is initially set to null for all groups upon registration. Thanks.

     * email, password) to register url

                              final String password) {
        // Tag used to cancel the request
        String tag_string_req = "req_register";

        pDialog.setMessage("Registering ...");
        showDialog();

        StringRequest strReq = new StringRequest(Method.POST,
                AppConfig.URL_REGISTER, new Response.Listener<String>() {
