php sqlite search equivalent of "beginswith"

I'm used to using beginswith with iOS programming.

I've been playing around with html, php, etc. the last couple of days, trying to get the same set-up I have on iOS to the web.

Is there an equivalent of the beginswith search function for sqlite search queries with php?
