DBMS Selection While developing and Mobile App

i going to develop an android app and ios app with same features app is like Instagram taking photos and uploading it i've search alot about different database management system to be used but i am confused on some points

1. Does NoSQL is better for handling larg amount of data storage?
2. if we use SQLite will it be slower with larg amount of data?
3. if we have a larg amount of data which data storage will you prefer?

4. what Data-storage techniques is adopted by Apps Like Facebook ,Twitter and linkedin?

5. using third party database api in app does this cost performance?

6. in last there is a coulmn name "Type of data stored" which type do you thin is better than all not including the api with just data stored technique for larg database
