which datatypes to use when sqlite in develoment and postgresql

I use the cloud IDE cloud9. So I use database sqlite for development and postgresql for production on Heroku. If there is more datatypes available on postgresql than on sqlite, how does it work to chose the right datatypes ? Thanks :)
